20th April 2026 Thanks to some good work by Kale recently, Happy Planet emulation in MAME is in a much better state and is almost playable. The MAME machine needs to be fed again (it's a VERY large and hungry beast) so I have just dumped another one of the remaining undumped medal shooting games (Galaxian Fever) using my custom QFP144 SH2 CPU dumping adapter. Here's a quick look at very early emulation in MAME (wrong colors and graphical issues) thanks to quick work by Osso.... It's time to move onto the next SH2 board in the dumping pile, there are 2 undumped SH2 chips to go. ... | 426 views · 0 replies · View · Reply · 150 Bytes More |

Check out the changelog file for the full list of changes.
You can download this release from here Please read the manual as it has everything you need.
Please report bugs. You can email [email protected] or use the features on the sourceforge site to create a ticket, leave a review, or chat.
pfeMAME is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and MacOS). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. It supports favourite game flagging, MESS systems, Software Lists (for systems), per-rom input mapping, and launching of other emulation engines. It was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that I wanted that other front ends just didn't provide. | 106 views · 0 replies · View · Reply |

Updated requirements for MAME Posted on 04/06/26 05:35 PM Posted by Vas Crabb
Updated requirements for MAME
I hope you enjoyed our April Fools’ Day announcement. With that out of the way, it’s time to discuss actual upcoming changes to MAME. We’re upgrading the development language standard from C++17 to C++20 and winding back support for obsolete configurations. We’ll also be reducing the frequency of releases a bit, so there will no longer be a release nearly every month. There will be no April release; our next release will be near the end of May. ... | 416 views · 2 replies · View · Reply · 2039 Bytes More |
